So my brother recently posted his all-time Top 1000 tracks on Facebook, complete with YT videos for each entry...
Our musical tastes are different. He's more into mainstream, though there is a certain degree of overlap too.
At the end, I told him I'll put up a list of tracks from the 1960s-1990s that I think he'll know (at least the artist) which are missing from his list (if you're familiar with Facebook, you'll know how difficult it is to scroll down through past posts, especially when you need to go back six weeks to see what was at #1000 in the list), plus a few extra recommendations from the 2000s which he might not be as familiar with.

So here they are... complete with links to videos on YT...

His stipulations are:
 • Tracks must be at least 3 mins long
 • No Xmas songs
 • Tracks can be singles, album tracks, or even mixes
 • Instrumentals allowed

My additional stipulations/criteria for this particular list are:
 • Mainstream music only - to try match his tastes, i.e. nothing too heavy/weird/underground, lol.
 • Very limited number of instrumentals

 I could easily put a few hundred instrumentals in my own top 1000,
 whereas he's only got a handful, such as:
 Sabre Dance, Albatross, Pick Up The Pieces, Oxygene, iirc)

Almost all of these would be in my own all-time Top 1000 tracks... maybe I'll even compile it sometime...
I'd take around 350 from his list, most of the 150 above...
I then just need to add another 500, and order them all from 1 to 1000... lol.
